Jott to Cancel its Free Service
Starting February 2, 2009 Jott.com will eliminate it's free service. Albeit limited, I was a big fan of Jott's free service. Jott Express worked great on my PC, Jott for the iPhone worked "good enough" on my iPod Touch. According to John Pollard, Jott CEO and Co-founder;
If you’re reading this, you’ve probably heard that we’re ending Jott’s free services (Jott Basic and Jott Notepad for the iPhone). Unfortunately, it’s true, beginning on February 2nd. Plans for current paying customers are not changing.
I know you’ll have questions, so I wanted to get out in front and tell you why we’re doing this. If you already know you want to upgrade, scroll down for instructions (and a nice discount), but either way I hope you’ll read further.
Our #1 priority is to keep Jott a company that innovates on behalf of customers. It’s why Shree and I started the company in early 2006, and it’s a passion shared by everyone who works here.
Whether you are a paid or a free customer, we thank you for all of the support you’ve given us over the past couple of years, and the support you’ll hopefully give us in the future.
More details can be found on the official Jott blog. Is Jott worth the 4 bucks a month for their standard package? I'm not sure. I would love to get the Jott for Outlook functionality. I'm just not sure it's worth the $4 per month.

Jott (and Evernote) have met my needs for an auxiliary In-Box and web-based file system better than I could have imagined. I buy blocks of minutes rather than a monthly subscription because I want it to be there for me when I want it, even if it's not that often. I use Jott Express daily to add to my lists from my desktop and tried the Outlook features but haven't had a reason to use them.
I got that email too but after a little investigation I moved over to Requall. It does basically the same thing plus it lets me share notes with other - something Jott moved to their pay service a few months ago. It has an iPhone app but I don't think it integrates with Outlook.
"Its", not "it's."
Every time you type "it's", re-read the sentence and substitute "it is". If the sentence still makes sense, you're using it correctly. If not, take out the apostrophe.

Anonymous grammar checker, thanks for the tip. IT'S something I need to do better. Keep searching the blog. I am sure you will have a field day finding all my gaffs!
I use the service Dial2Do as it seems to have more commands than Jott ever did and a much better interface in my opinion. It is at www.dial2do.com and is still free.
I will take a look at Requall though also
